Dr. Jovanelly filming "on-location" for The Weather Channel
In collaboration with the American Geoscience Institute I have created a video explaining my research for K-12 audiences in preparation for Earth Science Week 2023 (October 8-14, 2023). This video is intended to support and encourage women to become field scientists.
I was fortunate enough to have been selected as 1 of 33 research scientists to board a 3-mast barquentine sailing ship that departed out of Longyearbyen, Svalbard. The focus of my research was climate change, water quality, and general geology.

As a best-selling author, I was happy to collaborate with the American Geophysical Union to share my experiences in writing Iceland: Tectonics, Volcanics, and Glacial Features.
For over a decade I have been conducting water quality assessments on 5 continents. Click on the below link to learn more about my work and see photos from Africa, Central America, North America, South America, Europe and Asia!

Mrs. Earth is a beauty pageant that advocates for environmental awareness and social responsibility. I am lucky to have been crowned Mrs. Southeast Earth. With this platform I hope to change the view of what a scientist looks like. "Whether it's in heels or it's in hiking boots, let's take a stand for a cleaner planet"
I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by Sarah Williams, host of Tough Girl Podcast. The purpose of the podcast is to motivate and inspire women to seek adventures. It is broadcast in 126 countries and has nearly 1 million downloads. Enjoy!
